What this is

A private pasture, a horse that will stand with you, and a photographer who knows how to make you look like the version of yourself you keep in your head.

Most people never get to do this. Not on private land, not at golden hour, not with someone whose whole job that evening is you. You walk away with five edited images at full resolution — and a evening you will talk about for years.

No hurry, no crowd, no one watching but the crew.

You will be given your own session time between 4:00 and 7:00 PM, and you will get it once you are accepted. Sessions run about fifteen minutes, give or take — horses have their own opinions and we would rather get it right than get it fast.

Come early. There is paperwork to sign before you can go near the horses, and I will not start you late for it.

Rain date: Sunday, September 20, same times. If weather moves us you will hear from me by Friday evening.

Applications close September 12. You will hear back either way, and you will get your session time as soon as you are confirmed.

You must be 18 or older.

Horses

Please be honest. This is a safety question, not a test — beginners are welcome.

If your horse already lives on the property, you can shoot with it at no extra cost. Outside horses cannot be brought in — everyone else shoots with one of the horses on site.

So we can confirm with the barn and build the schedule around it.

Your session

Ethereal, editorial, western, soft and romantic, something else entirely. A sentence is plenty.

Not final — I just want to picture it. Say "no idea" and I will help.

Practical

Allergies, mobility, nerves around animals, a time constraint. Anything at all.

Agreement

You will be taken to a secure checkout. Your card is authorized, not charged. If you are not selected the authorization is released and you keep your money.

Please read

There will be liability waivers. Before you go near the horses you will sign a waiver with The Meditation Pasture and a participant release with No Guise Allowed. You attend at your own risk. Give yourself margin so the paperwork does not eat into your session.

Handlers are in the pasture at all times. Trained handlers stay with the horses for the entire session to keep you and the animals safe. Nobody rides unless a handler puts you there, and if a handler asks you to stop or step back, do it immediately.

Outside horses cannot be brought onto the property. If you board at Leatherman Lane you are welcome to shoot with your own horse — just tell me its name on the application. Everyone else shoots with one of the horses already on site.

Wear what you love, and bring something to walk in. Flowing fabric photographs beautifully out there. Heels sink into a pasture, so bring flats or boots for getting around. No wardrobe is provided for this one.

You must be 18 or older. No guests, no children and no pets on the property — only the people on the call sheet.
